University of Illinois Extension is a statewide network of professionals dedicated to creating local community impact and statewide transformation. We do this by translating research and knowledge into practical programs for Illinois residents. Our programs target youth and adults, individuals and families, as well as business owners and community leaders.

Our staffing needs are diverse, but we often have openings for those with an interest in education, agriculture, environmental stewardship, foods and nutrition, and community development. Extension Program Coordinator - 4-H Youth Development, Livingston County

The Extension Program Coordinator, 4-H Youth Development supports the promotion, expansion, and implementation of University of Illinois Extension 4-H Youth Development Programs in the schools and communities. These duties include: Identifying critical priority needs and issues, with the assistance of other staff, to be addressed through 4-H programs. Facilitates the planning of educational activities in an assigned area in conjunction with other staff and volunteers. Develops plans to involve volunteers in specific educational activities, which include recruitment and training. Networks and/or collaborates with appropriate designated community organizations and groups to assess needs and develop educational activities to address those needs. Assists in formulating and ensuring the implementation of standard operating procedures for program activities, including guidelines to ensure the safety and welfare of participants.

This position's primary responsibilities include planning the 4-H Show, as well as overseeing 4-H SPIN Clubs and  4-H Federation for McLean County.

The Extension Program Coordinator works as a team member with all Extension staff to respond to local requests for information and assist with program delivery support. This position's primary role is coordinating recruitment, training, communications, reporting, and recognition of the Master Gardener volunteer group.
