Goldenrod
Solidago hybrids

An excellent garden perennial that often gets accused of causing hayfever. It is actually ragweed that is the cause and not goldenrod. Goldenrod is a vigorous late summer to early fall flowering plant growing from 1-3 feet tall. Goldenrod grows well in full sun to very light shade in well drained soil of average fertility. Too much fertilizer causes the plant to get very tall and rampant and to fall over. Cultivars to look for include 'Golden Baby', 'Cloth of Gold', 'Baby Gold' and 'Peter Pan'.

Zones 3-10
