Fringed Bleeding Heart
Dicentra eximia

Fringed Bleeding Heart is a mound shaped plant growing to about 18 inches with leaves that are very fine texture and blue green. The main bloom period occurs in early summer but with good moisture and deadheading it will continue to bloom into the fall. This perennial prefers a partially shaded site and well-drained soil. Wet soils during the winter and dry soils during the summer lead to plant loss. The foliage of fringed bleeding heart will not die back like that of old fashion bleeding heart. Cultivars to look for include 'Luxuriant', 'Adrian Bloom' and 'Bountiful'.
