Exercise: Short Bouts Make a Difference
The bills need to be paid. The grandkids need help with their homework.
The sink is full of dishes . . . sound familiar? Sometimes the "to
do" list just leaves you totally stressed and worn out.
Take control of your health with regular physical activity. Daily
exercise can help relieve stress and make you feel better
both physically and emotionally.
Health experts recommend that we get about 30 minutes of physical
activity each day. Now youre thinking, "How can I possibly
fit exercise into a schedule thats already bursting at the
seams?" Dont get discouraged. The Center for Disease
Control says that you dont have to get the 30 minutes of activity
all at once. Three shorter periods of physical activity accumulated
over the day can have the same effect on blood pressure, heart rate,
and blood cholesterol levels as one longer stint of exercise.
So make the commitment to regular exercise today! Remember, the
better you feel, the more energy youll have for your grandchildren. In This Issue: Support
