You Are the Ruler – Garden Measuring

• Students will experience the benefits of using their feet and hands to make estimates in gardening.

• Students will read about proper planting depth and space between plants and rows.

Using the information on the seed packages, students can learn to figure out easy ways to estimate the proper planting depth and space by using their body parts. Mathematical computations are made easy with these methods, and help students use "mental math" to figure out dimensions.
