Snapdragons are native to the Mediterranean. Snapdragons can be planted 2–3 weeks before the frost free date. Snapdragons will grow in full sun to partial shade. Space the smaller varieties six to eight inches apart and the taller varieties 12 inches apart. Remove dead flowers. In mid-summer cut snaps back to about six inches tall. This will produce new growth and blooms. Tall snapdragons are great for flower arrangements.
