Planning Lessons for Cloverbuds
It is important to remember when planning the Cloverbud activities,
the learning level of the group of children. Five-year olds will
need more guidance and assistance with the activities. Most five-year
olds rely on picture recognition rather than following written instructions.
If the group is kindergarten age, many can begin to read short three
word sentences. Children at this age are learning to write their
name and the alphabet. You may not want to include many written
activities because the children may become easily frustrated. By
age seven however, many of the children can accomplish written tasks
as a part of their Cloverbud activities.

Cloverbud Training at State Leader Forum
2001 State 4-H Volunteer Forums will be held across the state this
spring. The forum in northern Illinois will be held February 23-24,
2001 at the DeKalb County Center for Agriculture in Sycamore. Activities
are planned for Friday evening and all day on Saturday. Registration
materials will be available in early January. Registration deadline
will be February 2, 2001. There will be at least one session for
Cloverbud volunteers and others that may be of interest as well.
Save the day and plan to join other 4-H volunteers for an exciting
outing.
