retail food sales has been less than three percent.
The percentage of the
average American's total disposable income spent on food is just
about 10 percent annually, very low compared to other countries.
About
40 to 50 percent of the population says convenience is the most
important factor in food purchases.
In 1980, the definition of
'convenient' food preparation time was 20 minutes. In 1990,
it was only two minutes.
